UnidosUS Capitol Awards

The UnidosUS Capital Awards gala honors the activists, public figures, and politicians who are champions for the Latino community. It’s a night to acknowledge those who are at the forefront of national issues that affect Hispanics, and those who empower Latinos to define and achieve their own American Dream.

This year, Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen—the first Latina Congresswoman—and Luis Gutiérrez will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards for more than 50 years of combined service in Congress. World Central Kitchen, led by chef José Andrés, will receive the Public Service Award for their outstanding work addressing world hunger and poverty, especially in helping victims of Hurricane María in Puerto Rico.

Past awardees include Republican strategist and political commentator Ana Navarro, Representative Nydia Velazquez, Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Ted Kennedy, and Senator John McCain.

Hosted in the National Building Museum’s stunning Great Hall, the UnidosUS Capital Awards is the premier DC event that recognizes Latino excellence and allies to our community.
